Consumers shopping habits have changed dramatically and are now using the Internet as the basis for local purchases to the point that printed advertising is losing it’s effectiveness. This includes advertising in newspapers and in the Yellow Pages. the last time I looked at the Yellow Pages, I couldn’t read the print and I am near-sighted.

Did you know that:

* Search Engines is the #1 method used to find local businesses and services?
* 86% Of the Americans surveyed use the Internet to find local businesses and services?
* 80% say that they research a product or service online, then make their purchases offline at a local business?

Me personally, do all my research online first. I research the product or service, compare prices, research local businesses that carry that product or service. If the product has a shipping fee, I try to find it locally first. There are things that you just need someone local, such as Plumbers, Electricians, Veterinarians, etc.

The Internet was indispensable when I moved across country and needed to find a Vet for my dog, and more importantly in those first days of the moving to my new place was a pizza shop that delivered. I even found my new apartment online and it was ready for me to move in when I arrived in San Antonio.

Think about the last time you shopped for a new car, or TV, or needed a repair done. What method did you use? Chances are you did some of your research online.

How Can I help You Get More Customers?

First, I only work with 1 or 2- 3 business owners in any one area of specialty, electricians for example, in any one town or city at a time. There are only 10 spots on a page in Google, and my clients often have multiple listings on a page.

We provide you with a site that is completely optimized so that it will show up on the first page of Google

The purpose of building a website is to present information you want people to see. Unless you have visitors coming to your website, there is no point having one. Search engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo!, Altavista are the major source of getting traffic to websites. To be able to rank easily in search engines and obtain more visitors you have to design your website, search engine friendly.

Crawlers or robots are programs used by search engines to index websites. A list on their search results is displayed on pages when you do a search in a search box for certain keywords. Your main objective is to get your website listed on the first page. Crawlers or robots follow links to pages and reads the content and stores them in a data base, so when someone does a search it runs through the data base and pulls out every page that has that keyword or keyword-phrase on it and displays it on pages where you can find what you are looking for.

Things you might avoid using on your website.

You should avoid using frames on your website, if you want to get your site indexed faster. Frames make it difficult for users to bookmark a specific page on your website without using long, complicated scripts. They only confuse search engine robots and they might even abandon your site because of that.

Presenting important information in Flash movies or in images is something you do not want to do. If you present important words in Flash movies and images rather than textual form, the robots can only read text on your source code, so this dramatically affect your search engine ranking.

Do not use wrong HTML tags like “font, align, and margin” repeatedly in the code to style your pages. Use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) instead because they are more effective and efficient. Instead of using tags like that use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). By using Style Sheets you can eliminate redundant HTML tags and make your pages much lighter and faster to load.

Always use meta tags with the keywords relevant to each and every page of your site so that search engine robots know at first glance what that particular page is about and whether or not to index it.

Using meta tags, will make the search engine robot’s job easier so they will crawl and index your site more frequently.

Designing your site to be unique to you.

HTML and CSS can be made easy the Crazy Ed’s way.

The need for a simplistic coding language that would excel at creating structure, store and transport data on the internet was the original purpose behind extensible markup language, also known as XML. Rather than being a frontline interface with the user through the internet, it is embedded into other coding languages to enrich the formatting of those languages. Corporations have managed to deliver great interest in the XML technology as it makes delivering the information easier and less expensive than before. Here are some examples of what great minds and their XML editor have been able to implement.

Formatting of information has been proven a great asset of XML. Microsoft Office 2000 is a great example of utilizing XML to give their users greater control of the Office documents. Within the export functions of the Office 2000 program, it even allows the users to save the data in XML format. This is not the only example of using XML in a formatting capacity, a great deal of corporate internet homepages that view has data transferred through XML.

The news media industry has found a great deal of importance with using XML to stream content and data across the internet. Wavo Corporation implemented XML in a service it calls MediaXpress that streams sports, news, and entertainment to websites that wish to improve their content with real time and on demand news content.

The XML technology is not always used to transfer data, but to provide massive amounts of data as well. TekInsight.com Inc utilizes XML to give large amounts of monitoring and failure data to the IT departments. This technology allows the IT departments to receive real time information rather than having to wait for the data to be sent after an overnight batch report is run.

E-commerce is a heavy portion of the XML market because of the efficiency in transfer the data easily to the customer in a formatted method. Bayer AG has moved their e-commerce business into XML. This transition is expected to result in a savings of $250 million dollars, approximately five percent of their five billion dollar budget.

Creating information that is easily transmitted over the internet for their company divisions to access is a goal that General Motors has set into motion. They are attempting to create an enterprise portal that will link their 8,500 information systems. This includes 110 terabytes of storage data that will be shared between the sales floor, General Motor repair shops, and the engineers. The main reason of the decision to utilize XML is the portability and robustness that it provides.

Physicians utilize an application that was created with XML to enter spoken data. The intranet software developed known as the L&H Clinical Reporter assist in speeding up the entry of the data. This allows for immediate analyzing of data instead of waiting for data to be transcribed.

Cell phones are heavy beneficiaries of the XML technologies as Bluetooth and Wireless Application Protocol utilize the markup language. Another service being developed for the cell phones is known as VoiceML, which will utilize XML for speech processing and voice input.

DSL modems have been adapted for XML usage through a company called Covad Communications, Inc. The XLink API utilizes uniformed data fields for interactions between the customer and the vender. They have found that the switch has created a higher level of reliability. It has also made the data exchange more cost effective for the corporation.

It can be easy to see how XML can be utilized in any situation that data transfer is necessary. The nice feature of XML is it does not care what kind of data is being transferred as long as an interface has been created to display the data and it’s formatting it has transferred. The next step of XML is being developed as we speak by major corporations around the world. An XML editor and some time and dedication is all it should take as the possibilities of this markup language is endless.

Also known as the name “lead capture page” or “squeeze page”. Not only do you do the work just once, your traffic driving efforts can be focused onto just one effective method. You can build your mailing list by funneling all of your would-be subscribers through the creation of a landing page.

To convert visitors into subscribers, follow these basic tips:
Success Tip 1: Offer a freebie in exchange for your visitor’s email address. I very much endorse this method of building your mailing list. You can offer a special report or a sample of your paid product to your visitor in exchange for their details such as name and email address.

Success Tip 2: Professionally written landing pages is a must. When writing your page, treat it as if you are writing a sales letter. While you are not necessarily making a hard sale or try to get someone to buy your product upfront, being able to entice your visitors to give their details to you is just as important as selling.

Success Tip 3: Other than your opt-in form and perhaps important disclaimers and terms, there shouldn’t be any other links on your landing page.

Success Tip 4: Rub in the benefits of the freebie you are offering more than a mere subscription to your newsletter. You should focus most of the attention of the letter on encouraging your prospective visitor to download your free offer. Later, you gently remind your prospect that he or she has nothing to pay but just merely subscribe to your newsletter in exchange for the freebie.

In order to build trust, you can include your hand-written signature or a photo of yourself explaining where you are coming from and how you can help your visitor through your free report on offer.

Designing your site to be unique to you.

HTML and CSS can be made easy the Crazy Ed’s way.

Give Away

With the awareness of the importance of list building, comes a recent Internet Marketers trend which was started just a couple of years ago for the mutual benefits of all

Internet Marketers

and mailing list owners.

This method is more recognized as a “starting a Give Away venture”.

In a real sense, a Give Away event is much like a big time version of ad swaps. In a nutshell, a group of mailing list owners partner together and pool in their individual gifts in one limited-time event.

Each participating partner contributes a gift to the event. The gift can be a free product, membership pass or a product he is already selling (if he is kind enough to offer into the event).

The participating partner prepares a Lead Capture Page where he gives the gift in exchange for the subscriber’s email address. In other words, in order for a visitor to download the digital gift, he must opt in and subscribe to your mailing list.

When the gifts are pooled together into one event (site), every partner will then endorse the Give Away event to their own mailing lists.

The result: lots of visitors to one event as a collective effort of several participating partners!

With so many visitors downloading gifts from one focused event, it is a true win-win situation. This is because the visitors get to download several free gifts for their own use and every partner gets to build their own mailing list!

You can easily get notified about a Give Away event in the making by communicating with other

Using Videos in

Viral Marketing

More and more advertisers are adopting video as broadband continues to rise and ad-serving technologies become more sophisticated. Online video advertising is really taking off. Users’ attention can be captured and ads stand out from the crowd in an increasingly ad-cluttered online environment. It is true that video formats cost five to ten times more to serve than standard banners and they involve a lot more production and implementation work but they may well be worth all of that if they achieve greater response rates.

Where to use online video if wishing to maximize its effect, is what advertisers must carefully consider. Video to be used on the Internet should be information and communication focused while video to be used on television should be focused on entertainment.

Viral Marketing and your advertising

Like everything else, there are good ways and bad ways to use video advertising. Right now most marketers are incorporating their audio-visual content into existing embedded ad formats like banners or over-content formats like pop-ups. Though this could reach a potentially large audience, viewers are likely to be less captivated and more annoyed by these disruptive and distracting placements.

Cached or streaming video on a specific destination site offers the best chance of interesting consumers in brand messages, but it is not likely to reach a large audience unless it generates a viral outcome.

Whatever you come up with, don’t forget to make it easy to open and distribute. File size is important, as is the media format. If your viral video has been created for a particular type of software that not many people use, how will you get people to spread it like wildfire?

Also, if you’ve made a video the impact will be better for viral marketing if you send the clip as an attachment rather than stream it. It’s cheaper and, if you’re not hosting it, it’s more viral, too.

Viral Marketing sounds like something bad but it is actually something very good. It is, also, a powerful way to generate traffic to your website.

Think about how a virus spreads from on person to another. One person gets sick and just by sneezing they can give the virus to many more people… those people get sick and share their germs with everyone they know and the next thing anybody knows is that there is an epidemic. That is the very concept of viral marketing. The idea is to get everyone to spread your marketing message around because they want to.

Now let’s look at using an E-book to start your viral marketing campaign. First you create an E-book… a really good one that has links to your website, to your sales page and affiliate links to products and services that you recommend… and you give it to three people. In the book you encourage those three people to give it to their friends and family.

Before you know it the E-book is spreading across the Internet like wild fire. Digital information duplicates easily and quickly so before you know it, thousands of people could be reading your free E-book.

Make certain that you let people know that they have permission to forward the E-book around the Internet. When you create the E-book, you have the right to give people certain rights. One of those rights could be that you allow them to give the book to other people. Make it clear that this book is free to give away.

You can write the E-book yourself, use private label content or you can hire a ghostwriter to prepare the content. There are a lot of ways to create an E-book. Once you have your E-book written, use software to create your E-book.
